The Monarch Butterfly very recently made the Endangered Species list — partly because of the destruction of their native host plant, Milkweed.
These seed bombs only contain Common Milkweed. They were made through working with farmers across Canada. Small clusters of seeds are dropped from above, to provide new areas with vegetation and vibrant colours for pollinators.
Seed bombs protect the seeds inside by encasing them with clay and worm compost. This mixture protects the seeds from drying out, washing away, or being eaten by birds or squirrels. Rain or water releases the seed allowing the seed to take root.
Each bag contains six seed balls.
